Summer Teen Box Strong is a program designed to teach the fundamentals of the sport of boxing to male and female youth athletes between the ages of 13 and 18. The benefits of boxing training on its own or cross training for other sports are tremendous. Through boxing training, participants will learn effective ways to improve strength, coordination, agility, speed, power, balance, and endurance. Boxing training also helps build character and instills discipline.
The teenage years are a period of significant physical development. It is an optimal time to establish good habits and proper body mechanics for strength and conditioning training that encourages muscle growth. Awareness of body movements and learning correct form also helps to lessen the potential for injuries.
Summer Teen Box Strong participants will come away from the program with a boost in confidence, boxing and self defense techniques, and an overall sense of well being that will aid in the success of their long term athletic development.
